About

The Water Energy Distributors, Inc.

In continuous operation since 1978, the Water Energy Distributors, Inc. team has designed and equipped with 24,700 Carl Orio geosystems in support of the professional geothermal installer.

Water Energy is the largest and oldest distributor of geothermal HVAC equipment and related design in the northeast. We currently partner with over 2,300 installers, architects, engineers and other professionals throughout New England and nearby New York State.

At Water Energy our mission is to design and provide systems that yield maximum operational efficiency for the lowest install cost.

The family business is led by majority owner Christina Orio, and her father Chairman, Carl Orio, CGD – a charter member of the Geoexchange Consortium (now called “Geo”) and former board member of the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association. Carl is recognized as one of the true “pioneers” in the ground source heat pump industry!

Water Energy employs three fulltime AEE/IGSHPA Certified GeoExchange Designers (CGD), two graduate engineers and five IGSHPA Accredited professionals among our current staff. We stand ready to introduce any homeowner, HVAC installer, builder, general contractor and/or regulatory agency to the benefits, responsible installation and use of Geothermal HVAC systems.

Water Energy proudly distributes only top quality ClimateMaster and Enertech-GeoComfort geothermal systems. We also design and distribute SERESCO natatorium dehumidifier geo integrated heat pumps.

Comprehensive design of residential geothermal applications <8,000 square feet are provided to our installing contractor partners at little or no cost.

Commercial geothermal designs are offered through our professional design office, where we are partnered with architects, design mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) engineers or building owners and operators. Water Energy Design provides Formal Feasibility, Bid Specifications, Construction support, Commissioning and Peer review. Our design suite includes: closed loop; standing column and open-re-injection earth coupling methods. Our geothermal HVAC design packages also encompass the composite geothermal system, to include; building integration, controls compatibility, training and maintenance. Although we primarily work in the northeast United States, our design activities have included the rest of the continental U.S., Canada, India, South America, West Africa and South Korea.

Geo professionals purchasing heat pumps through Water Energy Distributors, Inc. receive design, application and service related support for the life of the system!
