ClimateMaster Wins Gold for the Second Year in a Row at the 2012 Dealer Design Awards with the New Trilogy 40 Q-Mode!
ClimateMaster, Inc. was recognized for excellence in product design in the ninth annual Dealer Design Awards Program sponsored by The Air Conditioning Heating & Refrigeration News magazine, the leading trade magazine in the heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration industries. An independent panel of 29 contractors acted as judges in the contest that had 81 entries. ClimateMaster's Trilogy™ 40 Q-Mode Series was the Gold Award Winner in the HVAC High Efficiency Residential Equipment category.
This is the second year in a row that a ClimateMaster product has taken Gold in this category. The Tranquility® 22 Digital Series was the 2011 winning product. "These awards give us a unique opportunity to recognize the outstanding research and development efforts that go into many of the products serving the HVACR industry," said News Publisher Mike Murphy. "The awards issue gives our readers an opportunity to read about innovative installation and service solutions."
"ClimateMaster has a solid track record of leadership and innovation since its founding in 1957," said Daniel Ellis, President of ClimateMaster. "We are very proud to continue that legacy with the launch of the new Trilogy 40 Q-Mode. It is a true honor to receive this prestigious award for two consecutive years in a row."
The Trilogy™ 40 Q-Mode series is currently in very limited production due to component availability.
With rated efficiencies as high as 42.1 EER, the Trilogy™ 40 series is the first geothermal heat pump ever certified by the Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) to exceed 40 EER at ground-loop (GLHP) conditions.
The revolutionary new Trilogy™ 40 utilizes variable-speed technology to provide an extremely wide range of heating and cooling capacities with the ability to perfectly match loads to as low as 30% of maximum. In addition, patent-pending Q-Mode™ technology produces year-round domestic hot water on demand, even when space conditioning is not required.
The Trilogy™ 40 Q-Mode series is the outcome of a five-year collaboration between ClimateMaster and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), which was sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Building Technologies Program.
Based on field tests and analysis by ORNL, the Trilogy™ 40 Q-Mode can save 55-65% of annual energy use and cost for space conditioning and water heating in residential applications versus new minimum efficiency (SEER 13) conventional systems and 30-35% versus current state-of-the-art two-stage geothermal heat pumps.
In addition to efficiency, the Trilogy™ 40 Q-Mode delivers unsurpassed comfort and humidity control by precisely matching its capacity to the heating and cooling load.
For installing and servicing contractors, it also offers the latest iGate™ technology to configure and diagnose the system electronically using communicating controls and sensors that monitor every critical aspect of system operation to ensure peak performance. These controls are the first in the industry to monitor refrigerant and air and water conditions (temperature, flow and pressure). The dashboard into the system uses 15 sensors to precisely troubleshoot and monitor the unit, displaying the results in plain English.
The Trilogy™ offers many dealer benefits that are new to the geothermal industry. This unit has an internal flow controller that saves labor time by not having to install an external flow controller. The swing-out control board and removable panels from three sides of the unit also allow for easy service and ease of access, making the Trilogy™ the ideal product for an installing contractor.
Also, the thermostat's Installer Mode displays the conditions at the time of the fault and the calculations of superheat/subcool, taking troubleshooting to the next level.
"The Trilogy™ 40 Q-Mode represents a major breakthrough in comfort and efficiency," said John Bailey Jr., Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at ClimateMaster. "With variable-speed fan, pump and compressor (Trilogy™ technology) plus four operating modes (Q-Mode technology), it far exceeds the capabilities of any other HVAC unit on the market today. Plus, it can completely eliminate the use of auxiliary heat even in far Northern climates."
Winning entries in the Dealer Design Awards were featured in the July 9, 2012 issue of The ACHR News, which is distributed nationally to over 33,000 HVACR contractors, wholesalers, and other industry professionals. For more information and further coverage, visit www.achrnews.com
